Known as “The Little School of Big Dreams,” Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn has served the community as a private, independent, academically driven institution since 1863. Welcoming Pre-K-12 students of diverse backgrounds, it begins the educational process with a child-centered Early Childhood Development Program. Program materials are structured to imbue participants with a sense of positivity and instill social skills that last a lifetime. Young Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn students gain a passion for examining and discovering new ideas in a complex and evolving world.
The Academy’s cornerstones of learning are social, physical, emotional, intellectual, and moral, and this is reflected in The Adelphi Plan and the vision of founder Mr. John Lockwood. Faculty and staff encourage students to emerge as active community members with insights and value to provide the greater whole. Studies are geared to accommodate varied rates of development and skill-building, with small group settings such as workshops and seminars common.
The Academy’s mission focuses on the education of the total child and the small class size and individualized educational program allows for all learners to meet their full potential.
